About

About TakedownGuide

TakedownGuide exists for one reason: to help people get leaked and non-consensual intimate content off the internet, without needing a lawyer or a budget to start.

If your private photos or videos were posted somewhere you never agreed to, the first feeling is usually that it is everywhere and nothing can be done. That is rarely true. The laws and processes that force websites and search engines to remove content are real, and most of them are free to use. They are just unfamiliar, and that unfamiliarity is what stops people. Our job is to remove it.

What you will find here

Two things. First, plain-English guides: how removal actually works on specific platforms, and what the law gives you through the DMCA, GDPR, and the Take It Down Act. Second, free tools that do the tedious parts for you: finding out who hosts a site, and writing a complete takedown notice you can send yourself.

How we write

We try to be honest about what works and what does not. Removing leaks is real work, and anyone who promises it is instant or effortless is selling something. We would rather tell you the truth: the first notice is the hard one, the rest become routine, and persistence is what wins.

Independence

Our guides are written to be useful on their own. Where we mention a paid service, it is because handing the work to someone else is a reasonable choice when content has spread across many sites, not because we are paid to say so. Any commercial relationship is disclosed.
